Snowkissed - Behind the Scenes
This winter, Pineridge Hollow and the homes of our owner, Jan, as well as her daughter, Katrina became the backdrops for the story of Kate, a New York City journalist who travels to Banff and finds herself mentoring a B&B owner. While navigating the lockdown to continue offering shopping and dining for our beloved guests was a challenge leading into the holiday season, the fact that our doors were closed to the public, opened us up to the opportunity of participating with Hallmark in a big way!
With a full furniture showroom and gift shop at our fingertips, Pineridge Hollow worked alongside the set designers to replicate the feeling of Alberta’s infamous resort town. Pineridge Hollow and the family homes were transformed into everything from a Bed & Breakfast to the Banff Public Market. Follow along to see behind the scenes, the furniture pieces used in the movie, as well as other props we provided to help bring the story to life!
PINERIDGE HOLLOW
The main floor of our restaurant was decorated with vintage art and used as exactly what it is – a restaurant – serving the town’s best “Smashburger”. Our kitchen made burger after burger for this scene!
To join in the fun, we'll be serving up our own Smashburger feature this weekend, starting Friday, January 29!
The second floor of our restaurant dining room was used as a bedroom in a chalet. Dressed up in Ski motif you can find the:
- Four Hands Casey Twin Bed
- Four Hands Sydney Nightstand,
- Décor Rest Harper Chair
- Lee Industries Apartment Sofa

Meanwhile, in the furniture showroom,
we cleared out the store to become a florist, cheese shop, and wine shop (with cheese & wine brought in by Pineridge Hollow through DeLucas!) Here in the cheese shop you can find:
Another corner of our showroom was transformed into this dining backdrop complete with a charcuterie board! If you’re planning on watching the movie this weekend – why not watch along with your own charcuterie!

For this scene, the Four Hands Belmont Cabinet, Four Hands Lewis Windsor Dining Chairs, Four Hands Bohemian Dining Table, Uttermost Vardar Floor Lamp, Glaslyn Wall Art and Bramble Medium Chateau Chandelier became the backdrop along with a number of Pineridge Hollow accessories!
Jan & KATRINA'S HoMES
Here you see Jen Lilley as Kate, sitting in Jan's kitchen, as well as the front entrance of her home lit up at night as the "Beachwood Bed & Breakfast".
While almost all of the furniture on the sets were pieces from Pineridge Hollow, the rooms were decorated by the Snowkissed team to give that mountain feel. Jan says at one point she counted upwards of 10 pairs of snowshoes around her house.
The three season room at Jan’s house featured:
- Four Hands Arnett Accent Chairs
The front entryway of Jan’s house became part of the Inn. The Bramble Sonoma Large Media Cabinet and Gerson Welcome Sign - along with accessories – helped pull this look together.
Filming also took place at Katrina's house,
This scene included the Uttermost Stratford Coffee Table, Four Hands Braden Leather Chairs, Lee Sherpa Accent Chair & Four Hands Lexi Sofa. While a corner of the house became the writer’s desk in the movie. The Four Hands Tyler Desk Chair helped to create this cozy nook.
We can’t wait to see these sets come to life in Snowkissed. It was such a fun project to be a part of, especially when we were able to help provide so many different aspects of the set. It’s amazing what can be done here in humble Manitoba to create the feel of so many different destinations. Who would have thought that Oakbank could become the picturesque backdrop of Banff?
With many of our usual winter activities cancelled this year, let’s turn this Saturday into a full experience. We’ve created the “Snowkissed Drink Kit” to sip while you watch. Pair it with a charcuterie board or Smashburger special, or if you prefer some more casual movie-watching snacks, we suggest the super fun “Movie Lover’s Snack Box” with popcorn, candy, chocolate and of course, beet chips! To place your order, click the links above or call our restaurant to place your pick up!

How wonderful for Pineridge Hollow, and homes, to be the main destination for the movie Snowkissed. I couldn’t think of a more beautiful place! I love P. H. and the food is sooo good! Congratulations to all and I will be back to shop and take some great food home with me! Take care, Lynda Specht

How lovely to see all these beautiful items. I have been to Pineridge Hollow many, many times over the years and have never been disappointed in the food, decor and friendly staff. As well, I have purchased numerous items for my own home.
Thank you for setting up these photos. Most enjoyable to see.
Sincerely – Bonnie Dyson
